A very naughty boy!

Monty Python's Flying Circus star Graham Chapman has been honoured with an unofficial blue plaque in London. Michael Palin and Terry Jones unveiled the plaque to honour the late actor and writer. The memorial to the comic, who died from cancer in 1989, was held at his "manor" - the Angel Pub in Highgate.

The pair were joined by Chapman's former colleagues Barry Cryer and Carol Cleveland at the unveiling. The plaque was organised by Chapman's friends and family members after English Heritage axed plans for an official memorial because of their budget cuts. Referring to Jones's classic line from Life of Brian, the plaque describes Chapman as a "very naughty boy" and that he "drank here often and copiously".

The Python’s famously gave Graham a pythonesque send off at his memorial service in the church of St. Bart’s Hospital (Chapman had qualified as a doctor) in London with John Cleese describing him as a ”freeloading bastard!”

Palin said: "This was Graham's manor and Graham was a lovely guy. I spent many happy times with him, most of which I forget. "Highgate was his patch and he should be celebrated because he was a very good, brilliant, funny, nice, wise, kind man, who occasionally drank too much." Barry Cryer added: "We did an awful lot of writing together, but also an awful lot of drinking together."

Graham Chapman's life will feature in the upcoming film A Liar's Autobiography - The Untrue Story Of Monty Python's Graham Chapman. The animation will feature his own audio recordings of the book.

Although Chapman selfishly dropped dead in 1989, he had taken the trouble to record himself reading his book, A Liar's Autobiography -- and those recordings have now ingeniously been used to provide Chapman's voice for the 3D animated feature of the same name. Fellow Pythons John Cleese, Terry Jones, Michael Palin, and Terry Gilliam also turn up, playing themselves and other characters, along with a few surprise guests. 

Graham Chapman is on course to be the most celebrated corpse since Elvis, who of course was also a very naughty boy.
